Conversations with Critters Presents Furever Friday September 5, 2025
Walk with the animals. Talk with the animals. And the miracle mile roundtrip home...
Today Critters, as soon as Jojo returned to the Condo from his morning miracle mile walk through the Park, a flurry of activity in our backyard unfolded before our very eyes. A certain species stopped by to welcome in September and being rather if not completely caught off guard, we did not get a single photograph of our own. Not even a blurry image. Not one. However. It really gave us something to talk about after our walk about.
Please, welcome our Core Community Critters, Jasper Kitten, Chris and Jojo in excellent deep deep blue critter conversation. Take it away!
Heidi: Hello and welcome to our Furever Friday Post, Critters! With a hint and tint of Fall in the air, we are still enjoying warm temps and lots of light to see us through our days. The end.
Jasper: Greetings, Friends. Thank you for being here for our conversation opener and a deeper discussion to follow. The end.
Chris: Please, come sit with me here on the Couch. This could take awhile. The end.
Jojo: Hello, Friends. I luvluvluv you. The end.
Jasper: Critters, let us now commence to move beyond our conversation opener and take a closer albeit fleeting look at a feathered friend who paid us a most incredible visit.
Chris: Sure, Jasper. We’re all ears.
Jojo: Ready.
Jasper: In a blue blur, in a moment of taking flight from the pine tree in our backyard, lest we miss it, please allow me to introduce the Western Blue Bird, a small stocky thrush.
Chris: According to my research, Western Bluebirds like nesting boxes of which we have two on our back porch. However. They remain empty.
Jojo: This leads me to surmise that we have enough natural nesting habitat in our neighborhood, also known in the vernacular as trees.
Chris: Correct.
Jasper: Let’s share a photo of a nesting box with a resident Western Bluebird for the edification and enjoyment of our Dear Gentle Critters and Dear Gentle Readers:

Jojo: Friends, please consider adding a nesting box or a birdhouse to your own personal habitat.
Chris: Is a personal habitat like the Couch, Jojo?
Jojo: Yes, very similar, Chris. Very. Similar. Furthermore. Bluebirds are social creatures just like us. They enjoy each other’s company.
Jasper: I see. Would you say that the Social Creature Aspect of Bluebirds is akin to the time we share on the Couch?
Jojo: Absolutely. Full stop.
Chris: Critters, to deepen the conversation further, I would like to ponder the benefit of the rapid and fleeting sighting of the Western Blurry Bluebird.
Jojo: We’re all ears, Chris.
Jasper: Correct, Chris. Please. Proceed.
Chris: Thank you being so open as I am getting very sleepy and I need to clear the air on this before the inevitable arises.
Jojo: You’re welcome.
Jasper: Ditto.
Chris: The transitory nature of our Western Bluebird sighting reminds me of my ongoing restricted caloric intake, and I’m talking 282 k/cal per day for over a year now. Full stop.
Jojo: I don’t get it.
Jasper: Neither do I.
Chris: Everything is transitory. Like. The. Kibble. In. My. Bowl.
Jojo: Thank you for the clarification, Chris.
Jasper: Ditto. Again.
Chris: You’re welcome. Although, with less to eat, I have more time to sleep. The end.
Jojo: You really inspire me with your positive attitude, Chris.
Jasper: Your positive attitude is uplifting. The end.
Chris: Thank you, Jojo and Jasper. I like to think of myself as an optimist at heart. There is always an opportunity for kibble in the bowl. I look forward to it. I am well rested for it and it gives me hope. The end again.
Jasper: That works for me, too, Chris. The end.
Jojo: Critters, thank you for joining us today for this exploration from the Field of the Western Bluebird. Please, stay safe and have fun out there. We’ll see you next week for our Detective Tuesday Post when we will feature Chapter 14 of The Case of the Jumping Gene!
Jasper: Brought to you by the J Kitten, Sleuth & Purveyor of Bright Shiny Objects Detective Agency. The.
Chris: End.
Jojo: Are we finishing each other’s sentences?
Jasper: Question mark.
Chris: Question mark.

Western Bluebird blur

The Western Blurry Bluebird are so beautiful! That blue feathers! We don’t see them in this side of the Atlantic 😊
Oh, how I adore these critters' conversations! Chris's comment: "Everything is transitory. Like. The. Kibble. In. My. Bowl." made me laugh out loud. xx~
