The Western Blurry Bluebird are so beautiful! That blue feathers! We don’t see them in this side of the Atlantic 😊

Thank you Debora. Do you have any type of bluebirds in your area?

No, I think we don’t have. We have the Eurasian Nuthatch with similar colors but more pale not so vivid.

Oh, how I adore these critters' conversations! Chris's comment: "Everything is transitory. Like. The. Kibble. In. My. Bowl." made me laugh out loud. xx~

This is a wonderful read about the Western Bluebird!

And Nalia and Salem (more so Salem but I'm sure Nalia too) would also agree with Chris' Couch and Kibble analogies😸

"The bluebird carries the sky on his back." Thoreau. I have enjoyed our Eastern Bluebirds for many years. Currently, there are two mating pairs live on our acre of the world and they raise their wee ones without fail. Their springtime songs fill the air with their sweet notes. They are quiet lately, but are still flitting around in the trees and the fields, their youngsters are out of the nest and off on their life journeys.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us, Laura. How wonderful on your beautiful acre of the world. The quotation from Thoreau is a real treasure. If you get any photos of these fleeting beauties, please share them.:) It's especially encouraging to know that you've given them a place to thrive and populate over time. Luvluvluv it!

The "Western Bluebird Blur" is the best! So neat that you and your critters saw the bird. Loved this, too: "Chris: Is a personal habitat like the Couch, Jojo?" I immediately imagined a bluebird house attached to the couch closest to where Chris likes to sleep. That made me laugh inside! 😁 Love the kibble commentary too, and the question marks at the end. Great post, Heidi.

Thank you so much, Mary. How wonderful to imagine this imagery of the Couch and the bluebird house. Chris is giving it some thought by sleeping on it right this very minute.:) I'll let you know what he has to say when he wakes up. No question about it!

Great sighting, Heidi! I have never seen their Eastern Bluebird cousin here in Ottawa nor the Western Bluebird. A most relevant haiku as well.

I like Chris' observation: "Everything is transitory. Like. The. Kibble. In. My. Bowl." - very Zen. ;)

Thank you so much, Neil. I feel lucky every time I see a Western Bluebird. They are truly beautiful. I wish you well in seeing one in Ottawa as it would make for a great sijo and photo essay. And yes, Chris is quite Zen about his kibble.:)
