Conversations with Critters
Walk with the animals. Talk with the animals. And a walk in the woods among friends...
Today Critters, we have a special Meet and Greet plus a Field Trip to share with you which requires a certain level of oxygenation and hydration on the path unwinding.
We embark from near sea level and climb a mile high into the mountains. One step at a time, our incredible intrepid Jojo journeys far into the forest with our expert guide, the one and only, Kermit. What will they discover deep deep in the Oregon woods?
Please, welcome our Core Community Critters, Jasper Kitten, Chris and Jojo and our Special Guest Kermit in excellent forest for the trees critter conversation.
Heidi: Hello, Friends! Welcome back to our Furever Friday Post! We’ve got a special treat for you at altitude in an area of outstanding natural beauty, so let’s read all about it! Critters! Take! It! Away!
Jojo: Greetings, Friends! I’m so happy to share my latest and greatest adventure with you! Furthermore, as you can see from the opening video to our Furever Friday Post, I’m walking by a tree which is in a forest. The end.
Jasper: Thank you for sharing this incredible journey with us, Jojo. We hope you’ve had a wonderful and fun and safe trip to the mountains! We can’t wait to hear all about your discoveries deep deep in the woods with Kermit. The end.
Chris: What.
Jasper: Exactly, Chris. Jojo is going to regale us with his adventures with Kermit who is well known to us as an Expert Mountain Guide.
Chris: I’m all ears. On. The. Couch. The end.
Jojo: Thank you, Chris and Jasper. Thank you very much. I will provide a full field note from my journal for you upon my return home. And now! Please, welcome welcome Kermit from his home in the Mountains!
Kermit: Hello, Jojo, welcome to the Forest!
Jojo: Thank you, Kermit. It’s great to be here. I’m looking forward to doing some on-site research for our current detective story, The Case of the Jumping Gene, set right here in the Cascade Mountains and brought to you by the J Kitten, Sleuth & Purveyor of Bright Shiny Objects Detective Agency! Critters, FYI. See the links below!
Kermit: Excellent, Jojo. I’ve got all kinds of tips and tricks to share with you at altitude.
Jojo: Incredible.
Kermit: First, it’s important and, shall I say, imperative to remain oxygenated at altitude.
Jojo: Okay, Kermit. That sounds really good to me.
Kermit: Great, that’s great, Jojo. I’m glad that you agree with me.
Jojo: Of course of course, Kermit.
Kermit: First. Take a deep breath in and hold it.
Jojo: Okay, for how long?
Kermit: For long enough.
Jojo: Thank you for the clarification, Kermit. That makes a lot of sense.
Kermit: Yes. It does. Take it from me. Now. Exhale all the way out.
Jojo: Done. Should I breathe in after that?
Kermit: Yes. Correct. Continue breathing.
Jojo: Thanks for the tip, Kermit.
Kermit: You’re welcome.
Jojo: Would now be a good time to say how relatively easy it is to acclimate to the mountain altitude?
Kermit: Not quite yet, Jojo. I have one more important technique to share with you first and foremost.
Jojo: Okay, sure, Kermit.
Kermit: In addition to maintaining proper oxygenation at altitude in the mountains, you also need to maintain proper hydration by drinking water.
Jasper: Meanwhile, back at the Condo, Critters! Kermit! I’m sorry to interrupt the importance of what you are saying at this time, but I must excuse and recuse myself from the conversation. From what I can gather, I can see where this is going. Cuz. Water is a non-starter for me. Full stop.
Kermit: I understand your feelings, Jasper.
Jasper: Thank you, Kermit.
Kermit: You’re welcome. The end.
Jojo: Critters, Jasper has left today’s CwC post. We will now return to the topic of water at altitude in the mountains.
Chris: I’m still on the Couch. The end.
Jojo: Thank you very much, Chris.
Kermit: As I was saying, water is a vital element and you must ensure that you maintain your hydration in order to support your kidneys at altitude.
Jojo: What about the rest of me?
Kermit: That, too.
Jojo: Kermit, now that we’ve covered the vital importance of oxygenation and hydration at altitude, let’s share a photo of you as our Mountain Guide for the edification and enjoyment of our Dear Gentle Readers and Dear Gentle Critters.
Kermit: Sure, Jojo. I’d be happy to share a close up and please note that I am quite bullish. The end.
Jojo: Absolutely. Critters, as a friendly reminder, Kermit is a French Bulldog and Pug Mix, also known in the vernacular as a Frog.
Kermit: Thank you, Jojo. I’d also like to make a note on the spelling which is French. My hybrid nature is also spelled F-R-U-G. Full stop.
Jojo: Thank you for the clarification, Kermit.
Kermit: You’re welcome.
Jojo: For the record, Kermit do you speak French?
Kermit: Thank you for the question, Jojo.
Jojo: You’re welcome, Kermit.
Kermit: I do not speak French other than to repond to the words frommage, croissant, and baguette.
Jojo: That seems like a fairly extensive vocabulary to me, Kermit. I’m most impressed.
Kermit: Thank you, Jojo. Is there anything else you’d like to know about going deep deep into the Forest in the Mountains?
Jojo: That pretty much covers it, Kermit. I’ve really learned a lot from you. Thank you very much for being my Expert Guide.
Kermit: You’re welcome.
Jojo: Critters, please take heed. Stay safe. Have fun out there. Stay oxygenated and hydrated. And whether or not you have the extensive vocabulary of frommage, croissant, and baguette, please bring some snacks for the luvluvluv of an outdoor adventure. The End.

Hello JoJo, Critters, Miss Heidi and Kermit, What an incredible adventure walking. JoJo, it was soooo nice to see a video clip of you. You appear to be so strong and healthy. Thank you for taking the other hounds and the cats of Hound Hollow on your nature walk. We love nature walks. Have a wonderful weekend. Best to all! Emily for the Hounds and Cats of Hound Hollow
Mt. Jefferson is beautiful, Heidi! The weather looks amazing, too, perfect for adventures with your critters and Kermit. Kermit looks steadfast and seasoned at foresting and mountaineering. Chris cracks me up, by the way. 😁
