Haha. Such a cool post with a great gang of critters. I really love American crows and their caws. That barn swallow is so pretty, though. And the old hawk is just doing what he does. Three terrific birds for one terrific post. Loving these. Thank you for sharing, Heidi.
Thank you, Parker and much appreciated! It's great to have you here, reading with us and we look forward to sharing more with you soon. Take good care!
Love the haiku and the video. The photos are so beautiful, each avian strong and glorious in doing what it knows how to do. I learned so much about how the barn swallow and crow teamed up against the Cooper's Hawk. So very very cool. Loved this post, Heidi!
Thank you, Mary! They really did put on quite a display! That hawk causes quite the commotion in the park these days, but that's the first time I saw the Barn Swallow team up with the Crow. Incredible.:)
Thanks for these great pics and commentary on these lovely birds, Heidi and critters. Thanks for sharing your bird watching adventures, and have a great weekend.
Thank you, Diana! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, it was quite dramatic at the time. We're seeing the skies clear this weekend and a warming trend. How 'bout you? Have a wonderful weekend.
Nice clip, Heidi of that Cooper's Hawk, American Crow, and Barn Swallow. I like how the crows can be tenacious like that sometimes, haha. Crows have led me to so many sightings and encounters of hawks, owls, eagles, foxes, etc.
Nice to see the CwC crew relaxing and a perfect haiku for this post. :)
Thank you, Neil! I give you full credit for paying attention to the behavior of crows, although in this case it was plain to see. The barn swallows really made the scene quite dramatic and raucous.

Thank you, Heidi, for loving the animals. And, for embracing "everybirdy" is welcome to love the critters, too!
Thank you, Robin! And much appreciated from a kindred spirit, my friend.:) Safe travels to you!
Excellent field notes, Heidi! Always fascinating how different species interact
Thank you, James! This was the first time I've seen the Barn Swallows team up with the Crows, it really was fascinating.
Beautiful birds! I had never seen a photograph of an Barn swallow 💚
Happy Sunday to all!
Thank you so much, Debora! You would luvluvluv seeing the Barn swallows, especially in flight, so aerobatic! Happy Sunday to you, too.:)
Yes, I would love to see her! Thank you :)
You are an observant group! Thanks for the bird lesson. I will do more looking up today.
Thank you, Cindy! Please let us know what you find in the sky! Hope you're having a good holiday weekend.:)
Luv luv luv the pictures of the birds and the on couch analysis of bird behaviour. Critters, you have enlightened me! Enjoy your naps 🌟
Thank you, Trudi! The Critters have big plans for their time on the Couch this weekend. What will they think of next? Hope you are doing great!
Their imagination knows no bounds! 🥰
That is the truth!
That Cooper's Hawk is an amazing creature.
Thank you, Renato. They are beautiful. The one featured in the video also has a mate, so it can be quite a scene with the Crows.
Yay more Latin. That was quite a commotion in the sky!
Thanks for sharing, Heidi. Enjoyable as always :)
Thank you, Kristin! Gotta luvluvluv those Latin binomial names, my friend. Have a good holiday weekend.:)
I do! I loved learning them as a kid :)
Have a great weekend!
Thanks, recovering from the common cold, ugh.
Ugh! Hope you feel better soon.
Gorgeous birds! Thank you, Heidi and critters, for sharing the photos and info about them!
Thank you Emese-Reka! Great to see you here with us for this aerial display.

So cool!
The hawk also has a mate and the two of them together cause quite a stir, too.:)

Sunday afternoon it's supposed to go up to 27! Otherwise we've had a rainy spell, which will continue after Sunday, it looks like.
Enjoy Sunday for sure!
I always learn something from the critters! Great stuff Heidi.
Thank you, April! We appreciate hearing that and now for naps all around! Hope you have a relaxing weekend, my friend.:)
And you Heidi ❤️
Enjoyed this Heidi!
Thank you, Clee! Hope you're doing well and enjoy the weekend.:)
Enjoy yours as well. I am better and back in the groove. Let's do that collab we talked about, soon.
Looking forward to it!
