Thank you, April! The dumbwaiter ride really is fun.:) Luvluvluv this Haiku, always an honor to receive them. Looking forward to what you come up with next when the guests arrive at the Manor House!
The dumb waiter! Brilliant means of travel! And now, the critters have filled my head with songs. Smooth Operator has been there a while, but now 'My grandfather clock' has joined it. Thank you for the ear worms. The end.
Thank you, Trudi! Gosh, we don't know the song about the grandfather clock! We also got called out in the previous book for the Rice A Roni jingle.:) Full stop.
We'll look into it! Thank you, Trudi! After I read your comment, I started thinking about the nursery rhyme, Hickory Dickory Dock and how Agatha Christie wrote such a good book with it. She used several nursery rhymes in her writing.
Great chapter, Heidi! What a great image of the spinning Lazy Susan as the critters get their fill of stew, scones, and tea. Eagerly awaiting the next chapter.
Thank you, James! The Critters will be taking the Lazy Susan for a few more spins in the upcoming chapters. Thank you for staying tuned as the guests are about to arrive.:)
I really like the cadence at the beginning, the whole chapter was full of suspense! I seriously thought the critters were about to be trapped in the attic. Well done as always Heidi
Thank you, Kristin! It's so encouraging to read your response to the chapter. Thank you very much, my friend. I've been thinking a lot about pacing, so please stay tuned as the guests are due to arrive in the morrow.:)
Thank you Perry & Arya! Much appreciated for the encouragement! If you have the time and the inclination, we'll continue to provide the links to all of the chapters. Thank you very much as always for your support.:)
"Learn to rule it in or out" is great advice for getting by in lots of situations. Good one, Heidi!
Thank you so much, Mary! It's a great tip of detection from the Critters:)
❤️
Great episode. What a mystery! Love the image you create of all the critters riding the dumbwaiter!!

Ooh we sang it at primary school! I only learned yesterday it’s a Jonny Cash song 🎶

That’s a good point. Some nursery rhymes have some sinister roots!

Well it shows, I love how you wrote this one. Something ominous is in the air! Staying tuned :)
Thank you, my friend! It's going to be all paws on deck as the Critters are in the middle of the action!
Yay!! Wait, is this another clue? 🙄
Hmmm…nope, it’s the mid point of the book.:) 20 chapters again. The end.
Steaming fish stew, kibble scones and tea, the critter detectives had a super healthy dinner!
Thank you, Bree! They must keep up their nutrition in order to crack the case!
Very interesting chapter, Heidi I like to see where this goes regarding the dumbwaiter. Looking forward to the next chapter
Thank you, Neil! It's going to get wild with the arrival of the guests. Can the Detective Critters keep up up up?
What's behind that locked door in the attic? I. Am. Intrigued.
Thanks, Heidi and critters, for another riveting chapter.
Thank you, Diana! Is it a hallway? Or another secret room? Please. Stay. Tuned. Cuz the guests are about to arrive.:)
