Wow! On your sightings of the Great Blue Herons and Belted Kingfisher! I used to see a very handsome Blue Heron fly over the highway here in Rockingham County, North Carolina. He seemed to be flying from the Dan River to pond or further up the Dan River. But since one of our bad storms that came through that significantly raised the river for a while, I have not seen my Great Blue Herons fly over head to another source of cooling water and fish 🐟 to catch. So sad … I miss seeing him!

Great mystery story and skills being shown by all the critters . Star as voice of calm and reason Jasper as true leader and the others . Lucy loves the story since she was abandoned by someone . I love all the mystery and excitement . hugs and peace to all and to the Heidi . Great story

Sounds great for Ch 10! That's a nice trifecta of wildilfe spotted! Most of the Great Blue Herons have left the Ottawa area.
