Arya and I think that these all are wonderful and intelligent suggestions, Jasper Kitten, Chris & Jojo and Heidi. Yet, Arya the Cockatiel has another great idea. Humans can ALL Celebrate holidays like Fourth of July without the noise and air pollution of fireworks.
There are many other and good ways to celebrate, which will not scare the animals and many humans, as well. I think Arya is on to something.
Thank you Perry and Arya. We absolutely and humbly agree with Arya's great idea. We luvluvluv it. Thank you very much for bringing this into the conversation and we would really like to see it happen!
Your critters' choice of soothing music is some of my absolute favorites! The squish balls are the BEST. I'm watching and listening to the Boston Pop's Fireworks Spectacular as I'm typing this and also listening to the fireworks from a nearby soccer field. SO much noise. I love your suggestions for keeping all the animals safe and sound and calm. Carry on.
Thank you, Mary! Enjoy the Boston Pop's! That is a true blue classic. We've cranked up the white noise and have heard some neighborhood firecrackers, mostly waiting for what happens when the sun sets. Chris and Jasper have reached out to Cat Face squish stress ball.
Very helpful Critters, thank you very much! We’re not sure how Dolly feels about fireworks since she joined us shortly after the holiday last year. 🐾❤️
Rico's dad is more scared of fireworks than he is...true lol:) Not a fan of fireworks at all. I am pretty close to the Macy's ones so I will definitely hear, if not see, them.
He got a new bandage yesterday as he was keeping dad awake ALL NIGHT, whistling as the other was irritating him. The leg is still a bit swollen, so it will probably be a couple more weeks with the bandage.
Great advice, Heidi. I read a thread somewhere on another site how some places are using drones with lights to act a night show in the sky instead of using loud fireworks. That could be an interesting alternative as well.
It makes sense that Jojo enjoys watching Scooby Doo episodes, being a retired Detective Sergeant and all. ;)
Thank you, Neil! It would be fantastic if the drone lightshows replaced the fireworks. I'm really pleased that you mentioned it as it seems to be catching on in popularity. It gives me hope for keeping the animals and a lot of humans calm while still being celebratory.

Happy Fourth of July. 🐦🦜🕊

Great suggestions Heidi and critters! I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday weekend.
Thank you, James! It went ok on Friday and has been otherwise thankfully quiet! Hope you too have had a good holiday weekend.
Scooby Doo and Vivaldi? Is there a space for me on the couch?❤️
Yes absolutely! Would you also like to spend quality time with the emotional support Cat Face squish stress ball? You are most welcome here, Trudi.:)
That sounds wonderful! 🤗

😁 Chris and Jasper are wise.
We made it through the night!
Hooray! 😃

Thank you, Kristin! Let's hope she isn't bothered in the slightest! This is also Jojo's first Fourth with us. So far so good for the little guy.
Aw that’s good! I think we’re okay, but the fireworks are still going strong here at 11 pm EST
We cranked up the white noise. It will be dark here in about 30 minutes, so we'll see how it goes. Chris is hanging out under the bed already.

Thank you, Lee and Rico! Stay calm and stay safe, my friends. How is Rico doing since his surgery? Have a peaceful holiday!

That's post op with a bird and a bandage. Whistling.:)

Happy 4th of July neighbours to the South.
