Heidi and Critters! This brought me joy this Saturday morning in England. I have always loved coots but did not know about their non-webbed toe beans. You have illuminated my mind. Thank you!🤗
I love coots!!! "How a chicken locomotes" is my favorite new statement as of today. I will also think about how coots propulse (is that a word?) in the water the next time I swim. Super great post. Coots are awesome.
Thank you, Mary! Perhaps after drawing a pack rat, you would consider drawing a coot who locomotes on land and propulses in the water. That would be cool.:)
Welcome, and yes!! I love the idea of a pack rat cycling and then a coot locomoting and propulsing!! I just love unexpected inspiration. Thanks, Heidi 😁
Thank you, Lois & The Hounds and Cats of Hound Hollow! The comments on Coots are astounding as we have completely underestimated how unknown they are. Truly incredible. We hope they pay you a visit sometime in Texas as they are amazing.:)
I certainly will, Miss Heidi. I’ll have William and Travis the Pup on the lookout for a Coot as well. Coots in Texas! Wow! Maybe even in our front yard!
Interesting information about the Coot, Heidi. This is not a bird I am familiar with at all. That's interesting about them having some characteristics of both a duck and a chicken!
Arya and I enjoyed this teaching lesson; he says "We do give a hoot for coots."
Thank you, Perry & Arya! Wonderful to have our expert avian weigh in on this friend of a feather!

Thank you, Trudi! You are a true kindred spirit with Coots. Perhaps they are one of your totemic power animals? There's no other bird quite like them.
I bet they are! I could easily be an awkward duck-chicken 😂✨

We look forward to seeing what you come up with, Mary! And we'll keep this conversation going.:)
Yes! Hooray!
Wow! We've never heard about Coots before. You Critters and Miss Heidi sure know a lot. We look forward to reading more Conversations with Critters.
Your friends,

We live on a lake, so we welcome them any time they want to visit us!
Have a wonderful weekend, Miss Heidi & Critters.

Thank you, Em! Please let us know if you see a Coot as they have a year round presence throughout Texas. We're all ears!

Hound Hugs to JoJo and the Critters!
It could really happen! Hound hugs back from Jojo & Critters!

Thank you, Neil! That's amazing to know you haven't encountered Coots. They seem so prolific here, but I'm always finding out new information, too.
