Thank you, Louise! We’ve also posted Chapter 9 this week, so you won’t have to be held in too much suspense! Thank you so much for reading and commenting.:)
I like the rumble and tumble in this chapter, Heidi 😃. The critters certainly can turn a phrase, and the wordplay is fantastic. "emergency urgency car kit" is my new favorite phrase.
Another suspenseful ending, and a Rufus subset kitty with a beautiful new name. Fiona. How lovely.
Another week of anticipation until the next chapter. Will we find out who this adversary is? And what their motive is in turning all the cats orange? Another week...
Thanks, Heidi and critters. I enjoyed this chapter.
Thank you, Diana! Yes, the plot thickens and we always appreciate your questions. There could be a real shakeup as the Rufus Subsets shift from numbers to names. Thank you so much for reading and staying tuned for another week.:)
Ah. I look forward to hearing their new names. Is it hot where you are? We've just entered a short heat wave here, and it's like an oven outside. Anyways, I hope you and the critters are staying cool.
It's so important have a name and not a number. Yes, it's pretty warm here, in the upper 80s to low 90s F. Really dry conditions. There was a small fire in my neighborhood park this morning and I'm grateful to the Fire Dept for taking care of it. Scary. Stay cool and hydrated.
No local fires here yet, but I have my go bag packed.
There was a pretty serious wildfire in the community next to mine last year and a lot of people had to be evacuated. So we're all extra cautious after that. A lot of people were traumatized, although most were able to return to their homes. Two houses burned down. Stay safe and cool.
Thank you, Neil! There is a shake up happening in the plot! We are looking forward to sharing some more seismic activity with you in Chapter 9. See you there.:)
Ha ha! What fun! (But also nerve-wracking.😉)

Now I like the sound of those lava caves but what on earth is causing the rumble? I'm intrigued ...
Thank you, Trudi. This is the question! We're about to find out. In. Chapter. 9. Thank you very much for staying tuned!
Ooh I’ll be right there waiting! In chapter 9.
The suspense is incredible.:)
This had a lot of adventure—and fun!!
Thank you, Tess! Much appreciated! Please stay tuned.:)
Woo hoo! 🙌

Thank you, Mary! That's great to hear. Perhaps your Mini needs an emergency urgency kit, esp. around those self driving vehicles.
Yes!! An emergency urgency kit for the Mini in the event of a driverless vehicle mishap!
Great chapter, Heidi. What a cliffhanger! Anything could happen next. Can't wait for Chapter 9.
Thank you, James! We will be crafting Chapter 9 carefully, very carefully and look forward to seeing you next week for it!

The fires are really scary. I've been through several of them in Calif and Oregon and they are nothing to mess around with. Stay safe, my friend.
Thanks so much, Heidi. You stay safe too, and I hope the rest of our summers are wildfire free.
Fun chapter and suspenseful twist, Heidi. I like the seismic-related haiku as well. Looking forward to reading Chapter 9 next!
