Conversations with Critters
Walk with the animals. Talk with the animals. And we tore down the Tuesday Paywall in order to sound a clarion call for submissions…
Today, Critters, we have a Special Shoutout for you. A Clarion Call. We are inviting you to share your favorite and most fun luvluvluving animal antic that you have experienced in the annals of time.
You may write in any format of your choosing, but we ask that you limit your submission to 100 words or less. More or less. If you decide to write Haiku, this will be a piece of cake. If you would prefer to write Stream of Consciousness, 100 words or less may not necessarily be a walk in the park. We get it and will allow, of course of course, for a little flexibility.
Depending on the number of submissions we receive, we will showcase them in an upcoming post or in a series of posts for the edification and enjoyment of all of our readers.
Thank you in advance for your participation in this great, this wild, this incredible journey on the path unwinding. And now, please join us in excellent creative critter conversation.
Heidi: Hello, Friends! Before we get started, we want to share a sad note with you that our sweet sixteen little Panda has not recovered her health as we had so very much hoped for. She is being comforted and cared for around the clock here in her furever home and is resting easy. Thank you to all of you who have reached out to us with your support and kindness. You mean the world to us. She has a message of love and gratitude to share with each and everyone of you.
Panda: Critters, I luvluvuluv you and you are written in my heart. Furever.
Chris: We luvluvluv you, Panda.
Jasper: We luvluvluv you, Panda.
Panda: Thank you. Thank you very much. Luv is Furever and so is Friendship. Please, let’s return now to our regularly scheduled programming.
Chris: Excellent and hello, Critters. Welcome to our Special Shoutout for your Submissions about Animal Antics. We really appreciate being able to reach out to you this week to help us carry on.
Jasper: Thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness and participation.
Chris: Thank you very much.
Jasper: Furthermore, Chris, we are super excited to hear from our readers about their own experiences with Animal Antics.
Chris: Well said, Jasper. We are, afterall and furever, in this together.
Jasper: Here’s what we want to do. Friends! Critters! Readers! Please, write your favorite personal experience with an animal antic and send it to us in one of the following:

Chris: Now! Furthermore! Remember to keep your submission to 100 Words or less. If you can.
Jasper: Here is a writing prompt to help you get started and for the edification and enjoyment of our readers!
Chris: Critters, first of all, this photo is especially appealing to me due to the general nature of napping. Furthermore and specifically, consider this Gentoo Penguin who responded to the human-wildlife interface by taking a snooze on an ecotourist’s parka.
Jasper: Perhaps, a few questions would then come to mind.
Chris: For example: Would you want to wear this parka after a fish-eating critter used it as a hammock? What does this say about the IQ of a Hooman who left their parka on a rock in Antarctica? Question mark. Question mark.
Jasper: Please. Bear in mind, this is only and merely a suggestion. But! Critters! We hope this prompt will help get the creative energy flowing. Let’s do this!
Chris: Another example: But. What. If. What if another Gentoo Penguin wanted the same exact thing? They want that Red Ecotourist Parka which is designed to help a hapless Hooman stand out in the wilderness on The Ice. What if a territorial penguin kerfuffle took place over the parka? Then. What. Happens?
Jasper: Again, this is mere conjecture! But it helps to have these penguin prompts, so we can all get creative! Together! Furever!
Chris: So, stay safe and have fun out there and hit that Message link! I may not have too much time left for napping once all of the incredible antics start to pour in. The. End.
Jasper: The End.

Thinking healthy and happy thoughts for Panda.
My short Animal Antics is from 2018. My wife and I had moved to Ottawa Canada. One day, I was on our balcony and watching an Eastern Grey Squirrel bury food. Nearby, an American Crow was watching the squirrel. The crow began hopping and following the squirrel trying to find the buried food. The squirrel ran at the crow several times to get the crow to fly away. The crow would just hop away and right back again. The squirrel even began 'fake' burying food. The crow continued following. So entertaining to watch!
