Thank you, Laura! If only we had a woodstove. It's incredible what zoomies produce in a split second for Critters who otherwise sleep 15-16 hours a day.:)
This Furever Friday post is a heartwarming slice of everyday chaos, told through the eyes and voices of beloved pets. Heidi Zawelevsky doesn’t just recount a coffee spill; she turns it into a shared moment of laughter, reflection, and furry camaraderie. Jasper, Chris, and Jojo aren’t just characters they’re family, each with their quirks and wisdom. The playful banter, the gentle teasing, the poetic nods to gravity and russet potatoes… it’s all so delightfully familiar to anyone who’s ever lived with animals. What shines through most is love messy, spontaneous, unconditional. It’s not just a story. It’s a hug in words.
All is well here. With Julie Rae, Mackie, Tommy and Travis the Pup all being one year olds we have a very entertaining household. Lots of antics going on, day and night here at Hound Hollow. The funniest “game” to watch is when the cats play “Charge and Pounce” with Travis. The games begin!
Em still has her eyes on JoJo and wishes him good health and happiness in his senior years. William is still keeping an eye on our entire subdivision.
That's good to hear. Wow, a household of 1 year olds. Em certainly has her paws full. Jojo continues to thrive and is going on daily trail walks. We've gotten rained out a couple of times this month, but he luvs his 'hood. Enjoy your weekend!
"The form and function of the coffee table is a domestic wonder not to be missed." 😅 That must have been quite the surprise, Heidi! Did you or any furry being get injured in the caffeinated mishap? Also, did all three of the crew watch you clean up? (Just wondering if they cheered you on or lended a helping paw . . . ) P.S. Your description of Chris's gaining speed on the run down the stairs was perfect! I could hear and see it! Cats are SO good at that kind of maneuvering!
Thank you, Mary! It really was surprising! To the mug's credit, it stayed in one piece. The 3 crew team pretty much exited stage left and stage right when it happened. I was left to handle the cleanup. No injuries were reported.:) Chris really was poetry in motion!
Oh kitties and their zoomies and other kitty nonsense! Mine have been behaving because the woodstove is so warm and puts them to sleeeeeep!

Thank you, Adriao! The Critters are most grateful for your kind insightful synopsis. Much appreciated. Have a wonderful weekend.:)
Chris was no doubt no so excited for Friday and the incoming weekend. Also nice photographic evidence of the TP'ing of the CwC HQ by Jasper. :)
Fur sure, Neil! Incoming indeed.:) The Critters have been quite adept at leaving a paper trail. So fun with those abbreviations.
Thanks for sharing your household coffee and TP adventures, Heidi and critters.
Thank you for reading, Diana! All is calm here at the moment. Have a wonderful weekend.:)
You too, Heidi.
Oh! Poor Heidi! I hope you weren't scalded and only a little surprised. Did you rescue your notes?🤗
Fortunately, I was wearing flannel lined jeans. I hung the notes out to dry and saved them.:)
You clever hooman!
Yes, after the less than intelligent placement of the mug.:)
Haha, fair.
Fun 🧡
Thank you so much for reading, Kimberly! Much appreciated. Enjoy the weekend.
My favorite part is Jojo surprise - a mug of hot stemming coffee on the table - who does that?! :) Happy weekend!
Thank you and happy weekend to you, too, Debora! Jojo makes a very good argument for keeping our coffee safe.:)
This is so funny!
Chris's dedication to the jump is impressive, even if the Laws of Gravity were not on the Hooman's side!
You can always count on cats for an unexpected morning adventure involving coffee and chaos. 🐾
Thank you, Guido! And all the more reason for us to listen to your chill-out music! Much appreciated.:)
Oh oh! That happens in our house too.
Our Critter households have so much in common, Lois! Hope all is well at the Hound and Cat Hollow.:)

Ha ha, a TP trail!
It was quite a moment! Thank you, MamaCarole!
